Here's my final image for 2017

Wishing you all a Great New Year in 2018

Flaming Star & Tadpoles Nebulae (IC405 & IC410)

Photographed over 2 nights from my home at the Grand Mesa Observatory in Western Colorado using the QHY367C in native One Shot Color & H-Alpha with the Chroma 5nm Filter and Walter's TAK130-FSQ for a total integration time of 8.1 hours.

Also known as IC405 and Caldwell 31, lying at a distance of approximately 1500 light years from us in the constellation Auriga this object is a combination of emission and reflection Nebulae.Visible towards the top left in this image is IC410 known as The Tadpoles lying at a much further distance of 12,000 light years, this faint Emission Nebula is energized by the neighboring Star Cluster NGC1893.

For comparisons here is an earlier capture of this image using the QHY11 Mono CCD
